Metallic backsplash tiles

Metallic backsplash tiles are commonly used to protect kitchen walls and add a touch of elegance to the kitchen. Metal tiles are relatively very easy to install, and easy to clean. They rarely get stained unless exposed to very harsh or abrasive chemicals or to very high temperatures.

Commonly used metallic backsplash tiles

Stainless steel, copper and brass are commonly used metal tiles for backsplashes. Many people seem to prefer stainless steel tiles for their luster, but using copper tiles may be an advantage for your health.

In a recent study, it was found that a highly toxic strain of the E-Coli bacteria could live for only a few hours on copper, while they lasted for several days on stainless steel. The details of the study are available at http://www.cda.org.uk/news/Press%20Releases/PR543.htm .

Cleaning metallic tiles

Metallic tiles are relatively easier to clean, and they rarely get permanently stained unless exposed to very high temperatures or highly abrasive cleaning solutions.

Metal tiles may be cleaned with a non-abrasive household cleaner and a damp, clean piece of cloth.

Stains on stainless steel tiles are usually formed by hard water, and these stains may be cleaned with a paste of baking soda and water.

Note - Try this paste on a small area of your tiled surface and see the results before applying it over the entire surface.
