Laminate Flooring

Plywood, concrete slab, sheet vinyl flooring, hardwood flooring, or virtually any other flat hard surface is suitable for a laminate flooring.

Laminate floors are user friendly and are easy to clean and maintain. Most of the polishes will not stick on it's top layer. All that are really required are vacuuming, dust mopping, and may be a damp towel at times. Most of these floors are stain, fade and wear resistant. You can keep them clean and looking good for many years to come, with minimum of your effort.
 
Laminates can keep a new look if some of the following tips are followed:

1.Vaccuum or dust mop to remove loose dirt or grit ;
2.Damp mop using warm water, do not saturate floor;
3.Change water as necessary to keep clean;
4.Do not use polishes or waxes;
5.Never clean with abrasives, scouring powder or steel wool;
6.Wipe up spills immediately;
7. Avoid any liquids from remaining on your floor even if it is your pet's water bowl.

Dirt and grit are the real enemies of your laminate floor. Walking over time also causes scratches that lead to dullness of your floor and larger particles like dirt ,rock or sand causes visible scratches. To avoid this you have to:

1.provide cushions or glides for bottom of your chairs and table legs to prevent possible scratching;
2. provide floor mats and foot brushes at all outside doorway entrances to pick up dirt and sand;
3.vacuum and dust mop regularly to remove grit off the floor.

In cases of severe damage which may occur rarely or may not occur at all, call your nearest trained professional to replace a plank which is a rare occurrence.

Spots that are caused by oil, paint, permanent marker, tar, rubber heel marks :use a neutral cleaner on a clean light colored cloth or nail polish remover if needed to clean your laminate floor.

In case of spots caused by blood, fruit juice, soda pop, pasta sauce, candle wax, chewing gum: first harden with ice, then very gently scrape, wipe with warm water on a clean light colored cloth.

To decorate your home with laminated flooring you have to choose between the colors of the laminate floors. If the furniture indoor is darker then you have to go in for a light colored laminate floor and in case the furniture indoor is light colored then you have to go in for a dark colored laminate floor.

In all, laminate flooring has caught up with the modern trend and they are fast becoming popular for the special and general usage in today's environment.
